It is a family-run business with a friendly and attentive owner who is willing to explain and discuss food options. It is the perfect place to try something different, offering authentic East African HALAL food. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous, making it great value for money. The flavors are delicious and I would definitely return when I am in Perth. However, I did not appreciate being pressured to pay by cash, as I was instructed to go to the ATM to withdraw cash, but I managed to pay by card. We had a fantastic experience trying Somali cuisine for the first time at this restaurant. We ordered iskukaris (briyani) beef and maraq ari (soup) which was served with chapati or rice (we chose chapati) and samosa. The portions of the main meals were generous, and even the chapati was enough for two people. The food was delicious, especially the maraq ari. We will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu. The prices were reasonable and offered great value for the quality of the food.

My partner and I recently visited Mamma Africa and it truly lived up to its reputation. This family-owned restaurant goes above and beyond to ensure a top-notch dining experience for their customers. The delightful server who assisted us was knowledgeable and helped us navigate the extensive menu. We opted for the combo dish, which allowed us to sample a diverse range of Somali cuisine. We are already looking forward to our next visit to try more dishes from their menu.
