I had a disappointing experience with the service. The fried fish didn’t appeal to me at all, as it was marinated in mustard. After trying a piece, I asked the waitress if I could order something else. When I returned the plate—which had the same amount of fish on it—she responded with an attitude. She brought back a small plate and instructed me to transfer the fish onto it, but I told her she could keep the original plate. It felt as though they suspected I was just trying to get more food, which was frustrating because I simply didn’t want to pay for or eat something I didn’t like. Charming little restaurant with fantastic food. We tried the queso (served with real homemade chips), seafood eggrolls, the Ragin Cajun burger, and the flat iron steak (which was so delicious that I couldn't resist digging in before snapping a proper picture). Everything was packed with flavor and entirely unique. The service was exceptional, and the chef even came out to assist diners in choosing between the amazing dishes, offering samples. There's also a great selection of draft beers! We will definitely be returning!
Was really looking forward to this place after hearing friends? recommendations and seeing reviews. Had the seafood roll app and then the crab cakes as an entree. Just underwhelmed. For the price, the crab cakes were just meh. Not worth $27. The waitresswas very nice but I was shocked that 6 guests merited an automatic 20% tip. Not sure I would have left that. Not sure if I?d goback after $150 for four people when there are so many other choices in Lafayette.
Everything we tried was fantastic! The owner truly puts his heart into his cooking, and it really shines through. His homemade salad dressing, a pepper jelly balsamic vinaigrette, is unbelievably delicious! We’ll definitely be stopping by again on our travels through Lafayette! What a great guy!
