I finally visited this restaurant with a group of my closest friends, and I was genuinely impressed! I don't go out often, but this was such a great experience. We enjoyed a traditional dining setting where we had to take off our shoes. We opted for the US Rindomakase, and every dish was fantastic. Almost all the meat cuts were tender and juicy, and the fried rice was exceptional! My favorite dish was the short rib topped with onions; the unique cooking style meant it was only cooked on one side, which made it less tender than expected. This is the Costa Mesa outlet of Manpuku Japanese Yakiniku Restaurant. Most of the beef are USDA Prime or American Wagyu type cuts. They did offer 3.5 oz Grade A5 chuck steak sliced to 6 pieces at $68. We ordered quite a variety of cuts including tongue, skirt steak, hanger steak, ribeye, etc. Their butter fried rice was a bit small to share but was quite good. Kimchi sample is also good but a bit pricy. They give you a free ice cream plate for your birthday. Parking is quite limited on this popular strip mall due to other quite popular restaurants, tea shops and bar inside.
We ordered the Wagyu Beef Tasting. It was really good, the meat was so juicy. The short rib was my favorite. I am not a salad person but the salad dressing was awesome. We had the fresh corn as an add on. The dressing for the corn worked very well. We also ordered the Fuji Apple juice, it was so fresh. We upgraded the ice cream to black sesame pudding. If you like black sesame dessert, that's a must order. The waitresses were so nice. It was an awesome experience.
This is the best food I've ever experienced! I've seldom encountered flavors like these. If possible, I would go back right now. The lychee ice cream is the most exquisite dessert I've ever enjoyed. We will absolutely be coming back. Food: 5/5

Manpuku Japanese BBQ Dining in Costa Mesa has long been my top choice for yakiniku in Orange County. After more than 15 years of visiting, the quality remains consistently excellent. The service is fantastic, and the prices are fair.
Favorite place to be together. We always get the Kobe course. We love the quality and service. Kent has been fantastic to us and we really appreciate being appreciated as regular customers. We rave about Manpuku Costa Mesa!!
The server was excellent, and we really enjoyed our food and drinks. However, after chatting at our table for about 10 minutes, the supervisor approached us and asked us to leave, which felt somewhat impolite.
The meat quality is fantastic, and the service is excellent. The host and servers were all extremely friendly and helpful, and the restaurant itself was nice and clean (no smoke or greasy floors)!
