There is no alternative to dairy on their starters, as apparently all their food is pre prepared.... Their goats cheese is apparently cheaper than their bacon..... A swap goes against their allergen policy.... And it would be creating a new menu.... at least this was the four different excuses I was given as to why they could not accommodate my allergy that they so neatly have cards printed for..... Swapping butter for olive oil in the spinach side is fine though Well at least that's what they told me this time round... Last time however nothing was two much trouble.... But then the head chef wasn't in, so clearly whoever was offering great customer service on that previous occasion was obv...
Extremely disappointing service and food. Save your money and go-elsewhere. Acclaimed 3 star Michelin chef Marco Pierre White! How exciting to be visiting one of his restaurants for afternoon tea!! Even at the eye watering 20 pounds a head it was worth trying. Well, nothing had been baked freshly. It looked like cheap packet goods were used. The scones were small and hard, sandwiches tasteless with zero fillings and the cakes were dry and uninviting. The two service staff were unhelpful, complained that they had to “make it all myself” (coffee), even an order for earl grey tea was a bit much to accommodate. The service at this restaurant was the worst I have experienced in the past two years. Although we placed our drink and food order within the first 5 minutes, it took 50 minutes for the first course to arrive. The second course, consisting of just cheese and creme brulee, took an additional 40 minutes. In total, it took us 2 hours to have just 2 courses. The managing director was impersonal and brief, making the overall experience disappointing. This restaurant is overrated and the service is not worth the wait. I would recommend staying away.
We went for afternoon tea for my sister's birthday and the food was lovely l would have preferred a choice of sandwiches but this is only down to personal preference. The service was excellent and Christian who served us was extremely pleasant and very knowledgeable when l asked him some questions. Couldn't have been more helpful. My sister was also very happy when she was given a complimentary glass of prosecco for her birthday. Thank you.

Beautiful view and lovely staff but unfortunately the food was a dried up tasteless sandwich and chips! How can anyone get a club sandwich so wrong? I wish I had gone to marks and Spencer's and bought a sandwich from there! Come on Marco Pierre do you really think your lunch time food is of an acceptable standard? Very very disappointed
Bought a Groupon for a gift for someone to eat here. Unfortunately the company behind MPW had listed Plymouth as one of the venues for this dining experience by mistake. So they refused to honour the booking and said we'd have to get a refund from Groupon. Very poor.
The staff was excellent, a big shout out for Brandon he was very attentive, the food was amazing
