Eight of us took the Gray line Heidiland and Liechenstein Tour from Zurich. When we arrived in Rapperswill they had a parent/child race going on and it was pouring rain. The restaurant we were advised to go by our tour guide was packed. We looked around town and found Marco's. We decided to have hot minestrone soup and wine. Good decision as we were able to warm up and get dry. We sat at the bar and were able to watch the chef preparing the pasta dishes. We enjoyed talking to some of the locals that were also in the restaurant enjoying a meal. I did not realize at the time that this would be just about the highlight of the tour.
Seriously, i cannot understand the positive comments, this place is absolute nothing special at all ! And in my opinion not worth the money....it is not even cheap, but the food is quite disappointing after reading all these positive comments.Not worth the visit, Rapperswil has much better to offer !
Marco is a one man show. All the seat were taken in his restaurant (about 25) and he took orders, brought starters and drinks, cooked entrees, chatted up the customers, and brought the bill... All by himself! Pasta was great! Sauces were tasty. And the...price was great!
