So the restaurant itself is cute, I liked the vibe. It’s smaller than I thought but that didn’t really bother me. My bf was annoyed that the table snagged his $200 sweater, so I’d suggest buffing down the wood in some way. Our server was very nice pleasant. My downfalls came bc once we ordered they were out of a lot of things. Yes our reservation wassss for 8pm when they close at 9pm so at the time I wasn’t making a big deal of it and it was also my sons bday. But thinking back to it, if you’re going to allow 8pm reservations the full menu should be available especially when the menu itself was already very limited (only abt 6 different dinner options). The three cheese mac and cheese was really disappointing. The pasta and cheese sauce had no flavor at all. I had high hopes given Marcus's reputation, but this was a letdown. The chicken waffle at least had some flavor, but it didn't come with any syrup. I want to keep supporting the restaurant, but the chef needs to elevate the quality of the takeout orders to match what they serve to dine-in customers.

Too bad we didn’t get our dinner in time to attend the show we had tickets to at NJPAC. I made this reservation with plenty of time before the show began for us to have dinner. First we were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time and then at 45 minutes after being seated our meal was still not delivered. Service was very poor.

The food was great and I didn't have to break the bank. Our server was energetic and really kind. Music was a little loud but the vibe of the place was great overall. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu. Reserva una mesa ahora

This used to be a must-go-to venue but the menu has become smaller and less spectacular compared with when it opened. Chicken and waffles is terrific, but squash side dish was underwhelming. Beer selection was paltry.

We’ve been several times. Last night, we went for Newark Restaurant Week. The three course meal was an excellent bargain and the doro wat pasta is always a treat. This is an excellent place for a cocktail.

I ordered three cornbreads but only received two. I recommend checking your order before you leave. At first, I thought something else was missing, but it turned out to be the cornbread.
