I can always recommend the shrimp provencale, 3 jumbo shrimp in a flavorful garlic sauce on toast points. Since we were splitting that and another dish, we asked the chef to add one more shrimp and toast point so we could each have two and charge us appropriately. Our other dish was just okay, a vegetarian couscous dish with zucchini and garbanzo beans. Thin broth, not hardy enough for my liking. They could use a good tea selection. I think they only had black. Excellent service!
This is a little diamond in the rough on a beautiful part of Charles Street in Mount Vernon. They have some great French standards and some good all-arounders like the bison burger and the linguine with clams. When the weather is nice, they have live jazz outside on Friday and Saturday outside. Fantastic, alfresco dining looking up at the Washington Monument. It’s as French as it gets in Baltimore. The jazz band moves inside during winter. The staff are wonderful.
On a warm October night, we had a delicious dinner at Marie Louise’s Bistro. Our last time here was about one year ago. We first shared a Mediterranean salad. Then, my husband had the bouillabaisse and I had the shrimp provençale. Everything was very tasty, and it was fun and relaxing to sit outside. We returned on a snowy night in January and we had another great experience.
It feels like I'm in French. I truly love the people here and the bartenders are great. If you get a chance, say what's up to Kat I went back here on the 3rd of December 2023 In order Maryland crab soup and brie and apple sandwich. This first incident wasn't very good. Went with a friend who lives in Baltimore; we both had an appetizer, and two fish entrees, trout and salmon. Every item in each dish was fresh, seasoned and cooked perfectly. One of the best meals I've had in the last 10 years.
It’s just a lovely restaurant. The cocktails, food and service were great. We especially love the food. I had striped bass over a bed of creamy risotto and fresh asparagus. It was outstanding!
Lovely, not busy. The service was great, the food was excellent. The waiter went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with our meal. Will definitely go again.
