Initially, the scene was promising, with a bustling atmosphere inside and out, where numerous vehicles, including tradespeople, were parked with some occupants dining in their cabs. However, my experience declined from that point. Upon ordering, I noticed a lone fish at one end of the range. I could have requested a freshly battered fish, but I chose not to order a new one, considering another customer might end up with it anyway. The interior of the chippy appeared tired. When my meal arrived, the portions and quality were disappointing. The large fish was smaller than expected, the battered burger...
I returned to this restaurant after 28 years and it still has the same class. It is easily the best place to get fish and chips in town. I remember when a large mixture with curry, 3 fritters and batter bits was 13 and a half pence in 1973.....great chippy....hasnt changed.
