One of my friends raved about the Mariposa Market. I was on a bus trip with my mom-in-law and her seniors group a few years ago and we stopped here. I was very disappointed. I guess one person's interpretation of a market is different than another. I was expecting something like a Farmer's Market, when in reality it is an overpriced bakery that offers sandwiches, soups and hot and cold meals for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Very expensive. There is a store in the basement which is like a country store offering kitchen wares, candy treats, cottage stuff, games, aprons, etc. They do have old fashioned candy in the lower level from the 1950's and earlier like black balls, thrills gum, pixie stic...

I will gather with Friends and family at least once a week. I bring an 98 year old friend there sometimes twice a week for a coffee and muffin. Neither of us would think of going anywhere else. I use to bring my Sunday school class ( grade 9) there every couple weeks. Great conversation, great food. Great connections. If you're in Orillia make coming to Mariposa market part of your routine. It's such a treat and good way to spoil yourself a little

We did not eat here although there is a wonderful selection of food to choose from. The smells in here are absolutely amazing. There is a gift shop downstairs with a good selection of gifts and the bake shop has lots of great deserts there for you to choose. It waz a lot of fun.

I went to this restaurant with my family and took a chance by trying a wheat-free muffin. Unfortunately, it was cross-contaminated with gluten and I had a severe reaction soon after eating it. Next time, we will go to Bakes by the Lake instead.

This is a super cute cafe! Tons of variety, the prices are a little high for what I think you're getting, but it's always packed so most must love it. I would skip the sandwiches for sure, their specialty is definitely baked goods!

If you want something fresh...fruits vegetables or a nice panino sandwich this is the place to go in cottage country... they also have an assortment of little trinkets all over for sale to keep the kids amused

This restaurant is not safe for those with celiac disease. The wheat free products are not gluten free, and there are very limited options available.

Nice atmosphere and good counter service. Lovely downtown location. Two levels for more seating, antique looking ceilings.

I visit every week to enjoy fresh baked foods. The atmosphere is wonderful. Great place to visit while in Orillia.
