They saved us a really sweet stand I thought was very thoughtful! it was our first time and we had an amazing experience. our server was through! he was very welcoming, helpful, attentive and gave us the perfect amount of space while keeping us a close eye. the woman who greeted us was also so welcoming and sweet, but I didn't get her name. Worst service I've ever has at a restaurant. Will never return. My husband and I left after one round of drinks and an appetizer. The manager Toby didn't apologize once and reserved the same appetizer we sent back as a result of having no soy sauce for 5 minutes and the seared salmon belly nigiri was now cold. Coming from an employee who used to work at the East Lansing Maru, this is not the service I would ever have been expected to provide to Maru patrons. The rudeness of the manager was so off-putting. Very sad.
My wife and I love Maru. Best sushi hands down. We have been log-time customers since the opening of their first location in Okemos, MI as MSU alumni. During this visit we took some friends of ours as their first time and they also fell in love. From the quality, freshness, presentation, and attention to detail. No one has Maru beat.
Service was great, food was just okay. We frequent a lot of different sushi places and this place had a pretty small menu, and the sushi rolls weren’t made very good. When you went to pick a lot of them up, they just unrolled and fell apart.

although the menu is quite pricey, the food is absolutely phenomenal and worth it. the spicy mayo wasn’t spicy enough but other than that the service was incredible.
This restaurant is stunning, the service is exceptional, the drinks are delicious, and the food is absolutely amazing! I will definitely be returning with my family!
Great location, was lucky enough to get parking out front. Went for Early V-Day dinner. Food was extremely tasty! Great Date Night with social distancing enforced!
The sushi here was one of the best I have ever had. I was impressed by the service and plan on going back again for sure!
