Mastaro Sushi - Reservar una mesa

Mastaro is probably has my vote for the best sushi in Fort St. John.The rolls are made fresh, they are not cold and hard. The ingredients and fish are fresh. I like their nigiri. The wasabi is in the middle of the nigiri between the rice and fish as it should have. Some places in FSJ do not put wasabi with their nigiri...maybe because the folks here don 't prefer it. But I prefer it.The server who took my order (male, young, no accent) Messed up and wrote hotakegai on the itemized receipt. Which is NOT WHAT I GOT. I asked for scallop but I got surf clam (Hokkigai) instead.The rice and rolls fall apart easily and are not well packed together. But still that isn 't a big deal given the quality...

I regret to write a negative review, but my experience was quite disappointing. I ordered sushi in the evening, and while everything appeared and tasted alright, it seems that something was either mishandled or not cooked properly. As a result, I'm now dealing with food poisoning, which has left me hesitant to order from this restaurant again.

Ordered 1 deep fried roll no mustard, gyoza and assorted tempura with a side of teriyaki sauce and extra ginger.The roll was missing other sauces.. it was cold. The tempura was barely even cooked. The gyoza were stuck to each other.. oh, and there was no side of teriyaki. I'm so dissatisfied. Wont be ordering there again! ?

I called ahead to confirm that they were open, and they said they were. However, when I arrived, I was informed that they were closing 35 minutes early. This is not a very professional way to run a business.

Frankly Great Food, alas my last attempt to order out left me wanting. After I agreed to cancel my skip order. Due to supply issues, I was unable to call back and re order.....Going with Tacos now.

Coming from Vancouver, where there's no shortage of sushi restaurants, I can confidently say that this place offers some of the best sushi I've ever had. John is an incredible sushi chef!

This family-owned restaurant is a true gem. If you challenge the chef to create something special and provide him with a few suggestions, I assure you won’t be disappointed!

This place gave me food poisoning. It was the yaki soba that gave it to me and my 2 friends that were with me. Stay away from this place.

Compared to others in town this is not very good . Dry so called prawn were just the tails for the price not much in the order
