I’ve always loved the Everything Donuts from Mello’s Chinatown location—they’re a bestseller and usually sell out quickly. On April 4, 2024, I decided to try the Mello Arbutus location since I was nearby and was surprised to learn they still had 10 Everything Donuts left around 3 pm. Excited, I bought six of them and couldn’t wait to dig in. However, when I got home and took a bite, something was clearly off. The donuts tasted bitter and almost bland, with just a faint savory flavor, nothing like the ones I know and love. It's a bit sad to see one of my favorite dessert spots, Mello Arbutus, closing down. Every donut on their menu is uniquely delicious—soft, moist, and filled with a variety of flavors. We'll truly miss this place. Service was great, perfect for a cozy brunch experience. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Price per person: $10–20
