A funny evening! My friend and I decided to try MELT today. The building was easy to find and had plenty of parking. When approaching the entrance there is a huge picnic bench, games of corn hole and the legendary Wings of Avondale wall painting. Yeah, we stopped taking pictures! We were happy to see the wall painting as we had heard that it was distracted by Vandalen a while ago. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and asked if we wanted to play Trivia. We said yes and we were led to a table near the bar. The restaurant is nicely decorated. I loved the old school lunch boxes with napkins and utensils on every table. Ours were Harry Potter. In addition to the lunch box are squeeze bottles of rosemary ketchup and a spicy house sauce that Devine is broken on her house. Trivia started when we placed our drink order. The menu consists of appetizers, grilled cheese, burgers, sandwiches and salads. Pages are tomatoes, cucumber, feta salad, salad, chips, frits, tomatoes basil soup, and Mac and cheese. Desserts are fried double things oreos and vanilla ice cream. You have a nice selection of alcoholic drinks, including the very seductive adult Capri Suns. I just resisted ordering one of the Pina Colada Capri Suns. Maybe next time. I ended up with Coke Zero, which was served in the can with a cup of ice and a straw. We opted for the Mac and Cheese rolls for an appetizer. They had a pleasant, crunchy, crunchy, creamy, melty macaroni and cheese inside. They were served with a sweet chilli sauce. I could have eaten alone! I ordered the Ragin? Cajun, a deliciously moist and tasteful Cajun seasoned grilled chicken breast covered in Monterey and Habanero Jack cheese and creamy Coleslaw served on Texas Toast, and a side of frits. Despite the name and description, the sandwich was not so sharp. It was so good! It was only sharp enough to be pleasant. The frits were crushed steakries and they were perfectly dried in the spicy sauce on our table. My friend got the food truck nachos, crispy tortilla chips with pulled pork, nacho cheese sauce, roasted jalapeños, BBQ sauce and Jalapeño Ranch. She is not a fan of heat, so she had the hold of the fried Jalapeños and swapped the Jalapeño Ranch for regular. She said they were delicious. Dessert was fried double filled oreos. For everyone out there who tears up your nose and thinks that sounds like the worst, fair food, ever, give me yours! I used to be one of you and tried one on a bowel. I've been dressed since then. Oh, my God! I didn't even get a picture. I ate them so fast. These small sugar-dusted eggs of the dough contain melted creamy, dreamy chocolate and cream and are addictive! We enjoyed our time here. Trivia was fun. My only suggestion would be more comfortable chairs. If you are looking for rest, go somewhere else, but if you want to have fun, eat delicious food in a fun environment, and play a few rounds from corn hole, come to Melt Avondale. You won?
