Mentalo - Reservar una mesa

Mentalo is family run, situated on the roundabout as you come into Les Eyzies from Sarlat/Le Bugue side. Very popular with French families, and something on the menu for everyone. We have eaten there more times than I can remember, and have never been dissappointed. Extremely good value, and large portions. We have tried most of the menu, and the Portugese menu is lovely. My favourite is the Lamb Shank which comes with a small bean stew and fried potatoes with a little garlic...really lovely. My hubby usually has the set menu of gizzard salad (huge!) to start, Duck Leg with potatoes, and chocolate cake and ice cream...a bargain at €15 for the 3 courses, although there is a cheaper menu for €12.00, again for 3 courses. So the menu has pizzas, pasta, portugese, omelettes, about 10 main meat dishes (steak, lamb, cassoulet, duck, etc,) a few fish dishes, salads, really good choice. The biggest pull to the place is the very friendly owners who can't do enough for you, always smiling, and quick and efficient. It's the place we always keep going back to.

Visited Les Eyzie last year and found it difficult to find to find somewhere to eat outside of lunch hours. Luckily today stumbled across Mentalo. Delicious Calzone pizza. Fooled by a warm chocolate sponge and creme anglais. Reasonably priced and friendly. The lunchtime menu finishes at 2 but you can eat a la carte. Fondly and also serves Portuguese food on the menus.

I can't believe I would ever say this, but I was getting tired of Duck. Mentalo, of course, has lots of duck, but also a Portuguese menu. I had Portuguese lamb that melted in my mouth. This is a family owned restaurant for 14 years. Great prices, great service and great food [my wife had the magret.] Nice local wines.

Massive menu, everything is delicious. Restaurant is always busy with locals and their families. Good for everyone to eat. Prix Fixe menus are amazingly affordable and high quality.

Excellent meal. Pizza for me. Trois fromage pasta with green salad for mon femme. Creme brulee for dessert. Service both friendly and good. Would certainly return.
