I must say this is one of the best fish chips shop here in GLA. They served it piping hot direct from the kitchen . The haddock were fresh what I liked most is the fish batter ; it is light crispy not oily. Their homemade chips are delicious nice to eat with the vinegar. Food 9/10 Service 8/10 Ambience 8/10 Value for money 7/10 it is quiet a standard price around here ; 7-8 pounds per serving) It is a small shop so bear in mind to avoid busy hours in order to get a seat. Nearby the varsity student accommodations . The shop should give some student discount . Overall will definitely eat there again.

I had lunch here last week, the setup and atmosphere was okay. Coming to food: fish was flaky and batter was crispy from the edges I liked it but chips were not hot, kinda soggy, and didn't feel like traditional! Service: the lady who took my order and served me was friendly. Another part I didn't that you have to buy mushy peas and tartar sauce separately plus they were not freshly made! All in all I would never visit here again.

Environment 3/5 prices 3/5 seating possibility 1/5 service 3/5 food quality 2/5 total 3/5 once go! the box became the best place for fish and chips in Scotland. but their chips were boiled and were not noticeable. they have a good working style with all the uniforms and things, but at the end of the day, whose what they serve, that counts. try their fish a day, but for now, I guess its not recommend location.

So damn good. Definitely lives up to the reviews in every way. Well priced, piping hot and delicious. Try the deep fried Mars bar as it's heaven. The fish cakes are decadent full off fish proper potato and some cheese. Stop reading the reviews and go!

Had my first deep fried mars here. Deep fried pizza and chips and fish were all very good. Same for the curry sauce and mushy peas....the latter were excellent. Top chippy to grab a bite on a few tables or take away.

Ordered cod and chips, drink and fried mars bar, cost £17. Service was good in the restaurant, food was a bit bland. Even with salt and vinegar (although couldn’t taste much of that).

Worst fish and chips I've ever had in my life!! The fish is disgusting and the chips are soggy and taste like old oil. Never go there!!!
