I appreciated the idea of putting coleslaw in the sandwich, but I wish they hadn't mixed it. If the coleslaw isn’t good, it can really ruin the dish. Unfortunately, I couldn’t remove it and couldn’t bring myself to finish it, so I ended up leaving it for the birds. It broke my heart to waste all that tasty crab! I had high hopes for this meal, and I know it has a lot of great aspects. The service was excellent, the fries were fantastic, and the ingredients were high quality, but perhaps the recipes could use some tweaking? You can't visit Westport without stopping by this place. Luckily, someone recommended it to us, as it might have been easy to miss since it's located on a side street. There's seating inside on the upper floor, or you can sit at a couple of picnic tables outside. You can enjoy a beer upstairs, but not outside. The fish and chips are so delicious that we came back the very next day. The chowder is abundant, served hot, and full of flavor. We also tried the poutine, but we weren't too impressed, as we prefer it with cheese curds—just a personal preference. I also had to sample the clam chowder, which had received rave reviews from other diners. It was rich and creamy, boasting a lovely depth of flavor that I really enjoyed, served with oyster crackers on the side. When my dinner plans fell through, I couldn’t resist returning for another bowl of chowder in the evening, which shows just how much I loved it. I took my brunch to go and found a lovely sunny spot overlooking the floats and boats in Westport. The rain was minimal today, allowing me to sit outside with some crows hoping to scavenge scraps from my meal—sorry, but I had nothing left to share! I would happily return to Merino's Seafood Market.

The seafood here is incredibly fresh! We did experience a bit of a wait for our food, likely due to the large crowd and limited staff. They provided us with a buzzer to notify us when our order was ready. I ordered the lingcod fish and chips basket, and the fish truly stole the spotlight—hot, fresh, and delicious. The tartar sauce was excellent, and every table had a bottle of malt vinegar available. The fries were decent, but let's be honest, you don't order fish and chips for the fries. Mervin, you truly made our day! Thank you for being so helpful and kind—you're a tremendous asset to Merinos. The upstairs dining area was spotless! The poutine combines the best of both worlds; chowder served over French fries is such a brilliant concept. I've tried chowder at many places, and this is by far the best I've had. The Albacore tuna fish and chips came with two generous pieces. I found it a bit on the dry side, but my husband, who can't eat fish except for tuna, absolutely loved it! We will definitely be returning!

I had a great experience at this restaurant, and I particularly appreciated the employee named Merlin. He was incredibly helpful and kind, providing top-notch customer service. The food was delicious, but I do wish the batter on my fried halibut had a little more seasoning. It was quite plain, though still tasty. It might be worth considering a recipe tweak to enhance it. Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

Marina's Seafood offers the most delicious fish and shellfish you can find. Everything is incredibly fresh and simply delightful. I highly recommend stopping by to enjoy their amazing dishes!

Top spot for fresh catch local seafood! Lunch options are excellent, definitely a must when passing thru Westport. And bring a cooler
