Meson El Gallo - Reservar una mesa

We have been really enjoying this restaurant since dining here first decades ago. Two weeks ago we arrived for lunch at 1.30 on a Friday. No signs of any life at all. Waited a while and the owner arrived, said nothing, unloaded the shopping from his car with his partner and disappeared inside with the door firmly closed. Fair enough, sudden closures occur like this on Menorca. So, didn’t get a reply to the phone today, but arrived at 1.45 hoping for a Sunday lunch for two today. Owner just shook his head and said NO. No offer of returning later, maybe eating on the totally deserted terrace outside.? This restaurant is huge inside, so have absolutely no idea what is going on or what the problems are. Several coaches could have been booked to arrive, but somehow I doubt it. Husband said he had a peek at the kitchen and only the owner’s partner was in there. Seems such a shame for such a vibrant place to be in such a muddle now. Think I will head off Viper in Mahon and buy steak to cook at home rather than spending more money on petrol.

We came to this lovely Restaurant last week. It has a lovely patio but unfortunately due to the weather it was not open however it is lovely inside too. We had some olives and bread and I asked for some butter being English which they promptly brought. We had a lovely refreshing beer and then a nice bottle of red to go with our steaks. I had the solomillo and my partner had the chuleton for one. Both came with chips. Although the steaks were nice we found them to be just a little too much on the chargrilled side for us. However the chips were phenomenal absolutely delicious as were both the deserts. I had the baked Alaska which they flambeau in front of you and my partner had a more traditional desert both were excellent. The service was really lovely and the ambience was nice also. I would return to this restaurant and recommend this restaurant but next time I would have either the chicken or quail or rabbit. Many thanks Jane and Juan

did a walk in with two people in early July 2020 got a table, and served quickly (huge salad, excellent tortilla, chicken and grilled rabbit)...it was just what we needed, a quiet table outdoors with barbecue and cold drinks...very nice

We visited in October when everything in Menorca is extremely quiet, including El Gallo. Despite being the only guests they were glad to see us, were extremely helpful and we had an amazing steak lunch. We will return.

Super delicious food and amazing atmosphere. Great place for an amazing eveniment. Great staff and locații.
