Meson Rias Baixas

Menorca virtually closes down in January and we were lucky to find this restaurant by chance. We were exploring the island by car and thought we wouldn't find anywhere for lunch but luckily came across this establishment. The owner and staff were wonderfully welcoming and went through the menu and fish of the day we opted for a seafood starter and local fish for the main course. Both were delicious and had we not been staying so far away, would have returned to try more dishes. Do try if in Ferreries.

If you 're in Menorca, make sure to stop for dinner at Rias Baixas in Ferreries! Authentic Menorcan food cooked to perfection. Friendly service, the staff tried their way to communicate in English to make sure I felt I home. The grilled octopus as a starter to share is a MUST! And leave some space for dessert: the 'pudin ' with Menorcan cheese is the house special. Went there twice, not to be missed!

Seafood was fresh, service was friendly and fast and the overall cost was good value for money, would definitely come back. I had the mussels and cuttlefish, lots of people eating lobsters. Menu also allows you to order lots of half portions of different seafood of which there is a very good selection.

This is one of the best restaurants in the area. I recommend it if you like fish and seafood. I went twice during my stay. The food was very good both times and the service was excellent. Perfect for a dinner with friends as well as for a special evening for a couple.

We returned to this restaurant after many years and found the same quality: look out for the catch of the day, rice and casseroles and homemade desserts. A very friendly and efficient service. You have to try it!
