The restaurant has changed for the worst! We have been going to Sol'e Meta since early 2000's we have ordered the famous Veal Chop forever! Well this time something was off so the waiter asked if everything was okay? I never send food back or complain but this needed to be addressed since it has never occurred before. The owner came over and said to my wife if you don't like it, just wrap it up give it to your husband. I'm sure he'll eat it.! I have been living in the area for over 10 years and have passed by this restaurant many times. Recently, I decided to meet up with some friends from Long Beach who had also never dined here. The atmosphere was cozy and charming, and the staff was friendly. We ordered two delicious salads (watermelon and pear) and had some issues with ordering and transparency. When my friend asked the waiter about the thickness of the chicken parm, the waiter offered to have the kitchen pound the cutlet down. I went out for dinner with a friend on Saturday night, March 25th. I chose this restaurant because they had a separate vegan menu with great options. For my meal, I had a vegan pear salad as an appetizer, a vegan veggie panini for my main course, and mango sorbet for dessert. The sandwich was delicious and I even took half of it home for lunch the next day. My friend enjoyed her salmon dinner, pear salad, and cannoli chip dip. I definitely ordered this for my birthday weekend, and once again, they never disappoint. I always go for the short rib and polenta with a side of spaghetti for takeout. The restaurant is currently closed for indoor dining, and I prefer to eat at home for the safety of our community. Long Island residents tend to not wear masks, so we feel more comfortable eating at home for the safety of our family. I can't speak to the dining experience inside the restaurant, but the food tastes just as good at home. Plus, I get to enjoy it on my couch with a glass of my favorite wine in my pajamas. Food was good. We had a few appetizers to start with at our table with friends. Eggplant Meatballs were good. We had the Baby Clams.. sauce was very thick compared to other clam dishes of white wine , butter, olive oil. “DONUTS” shrimp balls was good. Veal Chop was okay, thick brown sauce.. maybe a cheese base with Mash Potatoes which tasted more like mashed from a box. Rockfish was good. Service was excellent. We had Pistachio Tartufo and warm dark chocolate brownies with Vanilla Chocolate Gelato.

I have been to meta few times and each time I had a very good meal in front of me! Service is nice friendly and happy to assist you with choices on their menu. Ambience of this place is in my opinion old school style restaurant. Either you come with jeans and hoodie or nice dress, both ways are fine. Quality of the food and their quantity is more what ppl are going to look into it; had a good time!

The chicken Parmesan was enormous. I mean, it was as big as a turkey breast, 3/4 inch thick. I'm not sure if this is usual or a one-time occurrence. The service was good. I will have to return and see if this was just a unique experience.

Great food , great service by our waiter Willie. I had the Nana's ragu which was excellent along with a taste of the chicken cutlet parm, delicious.

Meta is Good, but far from Great, it's OK in a pinch. But I wouldn't go out of my way to go here.
