During our recent trip to Charleston, my family and I received a recommendation from a college friend to try Mex 1 Coastal Cantina. This restaurant did not disappoint and served some of the best Mexican food we have ever had! The atmosphere was inviting and had a festive pub/sports bar feel. Our waitress, Jerrica, was new but provided excellent service and was knowledgeable about the menu. The Pineapple Margarita and Frozen Margarita were outstanding and strong. Our group agreed that this was the best margarita we had during our trip. We dined in and the meal type was categorized as "Other." The price per person was between $10 and $20. We rated the food a 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 4 as well. We highly recommend trying the Chips and Salsa and the Guacamole.
Very dog-friendly place with great Mexican food and drinks. Our server was excellent and went out of her way to accommodate us. I had the Mahi Bowl which was so good!!! The chips and salsa were really good also! I love Mex 1!!!!!!
Wait was one hour for a table and an additional 30 minutes for mediocre food. Restaurant was out of ketchup a basic at any food establishment. Fish was overcooked and fries (supposedly an upgrade from rice) were stale.

Love it here. Food is great service is excellent. Come here almost every weekend would 100% recommend Kid-friendliness: They refused to sell my 14 year old daughter a beer. That's great ? ?
Our server Morgan was amazing. She only started a week ago but she was the kindest, fastest server I have ever seen! She definitely made our experience and will be the reason I come back!
Good service. Went for brunch **** mary was great! Breakfast burrito was unimpressive, bland, and smothered in below-average queso. Other breakfast entrees looked better.
Was a busy night so our food took a while but they stalled our hunger by making sure we had plenty of chips and salsa. The food was great along with the atmosphere.
