Mexicali Mexican Grill

I try all the Mexican food I can, I'm chef and have a fairly high standard when I spend money to eat. I was prolly in 30 Mexican restaurants in CT, and while I was only once, it left the best impression to far and I will definitely return. When I saw the building first, I thought it was boring, chain restaurant type food. Couldn't have been wrong. The food was great, the whole mood of the place was pleasant. And I wish I got his name, but the server we had was the best server I've ever seen in every restaurant. This guy was a machine, and very nice about it. Whatever he is paid, it's not enough Cuz that he represents this business and could ask everyone. Definitely recommend this place when...

I absolutely love this restaurant! The food is incredibly fresh, and the service is outstanding. The decor is also delightful! It's definitely a must-visit spot in South Windsor. We ordered fresh guacamole, and they prepared it right in front of us on a trolley—it was simply divine and melted in your mouth. The fajitas were delicious as well. The wine, quesadillas, and seafood chimichangas we tried were all excellent. Next time, I’ll make sure to leave some room for dessert! The salsa and chips were fresh and scrumptious! For vegetarians, there are plenty of options to choose from!

This restaurant is absolutely wonderful! The food is very fresh, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed. Even if you're coming with a group, it can be a bit tricky to reach the South Windsor location, but I assure you it’s worth the effort, even if you're going solo. The prices are reasonable, and the combination of excellent food and service is sure to impress every time. I’m definitely coming back. It seems like some of the negative reviews are from people who prefer fast food chains like Taco Bell, which is a shame. This place truly offers a gem of authentic Mexican cuisine!

I dined in for dinner and had a wonderful experience. The price per person was quite reasonable, falling between $10 and $20. The food was exceptional, earning a top rating of 5 stars. The service was equally impressive, also deserving of a 5-star rating. The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and pleasant, making the evening even more enjoyable, again rating a perfect 5. Mexicali gives a vibe where I feel like at home with family members that haven't spoken to in months. At the bar we got Juan the bartender who always treats us like how regulars should be treated. Me and my wife come over every Friday and we love the atmosphere they provide here. We been looking for a experience similar to back home and Mexicali with Juan has delivered.
