This place seems to be going downhill unfortunately, used to have the best Menudo I’ve ever eaten, but it’s very hit or miss whether it will have flavor now. The salsa is now a hit or miss which it always used to be goated. The busters literally never tend to tables while they’re occupied, they don’t even look to see if your water is empty. It’s a rare thing for any of the servers to do also. You will basically always have to ask for more water, I’ve worked in food service, and this was the first thing they taught me. Don’t ever let waters go empty. I do recall one server paying attention to that to be fair. Anyway, not coming here as much lately, but still pop in from time to time…. Sadly d...
Great food, great drinks, fantastic service! I've dined at The Mex for over 30 years, and every experience has been great. Their salsa is not made with cilantro, and the servers and chefs always take my allergy to cilantro seriously, so I know I can dine here safely. Dietary restrictions: With a severe anaphylactic allergy to cilantro, dining at Mexican restaurants is often super challenging and sometimes life threatening for me. I know that I can eat almost anything here and they will take my allergy seriously. Tonight's beef fajita order was excellent! I loved that I received a generous portion of black beans this time. The beef was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. The vegetables were not overcooked, and I appreciated the generous amount of guacamole and sour cream. At other places, you usually have to pay extra for that! I really appreciate the delivery driver, even though I can't figure out how to review him. He took my order out of an insulated bag, which most drivers never do. As a result, he handed me my food while it was still hot! Thank you! I'm glad I tipped well!
We had a wonderful experience with exceptional food at Mexico Cafe. We have been loyal customers since 1979 and recently celebrated our 45th wedding anniversary there. Our waitress was amazing and made sure we were well taken care of. We were pleasantly surprised when our son called the restaurant and arranged for our anniversary meal to be taken care of. The burrito was just okay. The beans inside were too watery, the rice was dry, and the chicken inside was alright. I requested only rice and no beans on the side, but still ended up with beans. I probably won't return to this restaurant. Lorenzo's is a much better option, especially for the price.
