Middendorf's Slidell

Seafood platter was very good. It included shrimp and oysters tucked under 2 catfish fillets. It also included a generous stuffed crab, coleslaw and lots of fries. Batter was light and crispy and flavorful... not too spicy, not too salty. We upgraded to thick catfish and price was still very reasonable (compared to other seafood restaurants in the area). Server brought a small loaf of fresh french bread while we waited which was nice. They brought more bread upon request. Two platters and a cup of turtle soup fed 3 adults (no leftovers). I was out fishing in the area when it started pouring rain, so I decided to find another way to enjoy some fish. Luckily, Lovely Rita served me the best catfish po'boy I've ever had. There was so much catfish that it resembled a seafood platter piled onto French bread. Rita kept me entertained at the bar while I savored that delicious catfish. I’ll definitely be planning more fishing trips to the Manchac area just to swing by for another amazing meal.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious, and the portion sizes were just right. My only critique is that the BBQ shrimp could have been paired with some rice or a more filling side, as the amount served felt a bit small for the price. That's my only complaint. I can't wait to return when the weather is nice so we can enjoy outdoor seating. Overall, it's a fantastic place with great food!

I will always cherish the memory of my father taking me to this place back in 1973. We ordered crawfish and Barq's root beer. They covered the table with newspaper and dumped the crawfish right on top. Now, whenever I visit family, I make sure to stop by whenever I can. The service is fantastic, and the food is amazing. It's quite expensive. My meal cost $18 for a few pieces of thin fried catfish, 6 shrimp and a handful of fries, accompanied by 2 hush puppies and a small bowl of cole slaw. But the food was great! Lightly breaded and fried perfectly and not overly seasoned made for a delightful meal. The dessert, banana bread pudding, was delicious!

My husband and I had lunch at Middendorf's today and it was fantastic! We had the best server ever (Brenda) and could not have been more satisfied with our food. I had fettuccine with shrimp and my husband had fish and shrimp. We live in Mississippi and will definitely be back.

Gave blood in the parking lot, got a free plate of the fried fish. It was cooked perfectly and very good. I tried the shrimp and crab gumbo as well, excellent flavor, but be ready with a bit of hot sauce, needs a taste of heat. Will try again, the Italian oysters I think.

**** Mary was good. Went a couple months ago just getting to my review. Place is clean and huge. Food was good. The service was a little slow that day at lunch. It it was not terrible. I like the Manchac location better but we had a good lunch here Reserva una mesa ahora

The food was phenomenal. Our server was pleasant, knowledgeable, and friendly. It was a laid-back atmosphere.Dietary restrictions: Was fried with corn meal, so it was gluten friendly, and they had non dairy options as well.
