We were lucky enough to get a table for two at 730pm on a Friday night! That was the only good thing about the dinner. We both ordered Bento boxes. The service was brutal. Our server barely stopped by to check our drinks - we only had water, how hard is that to keep up with? Out comes the food. It was ok until I bit into the chicken....uncooked! Lots of pink in the middle! That was it for me! I stopped eating. The server came by and we commented on the chicken. All she says is 'so sorry'. Noting about telling the kitchen, no discount on a $25 dish, no manager coming to see what happened. very disappointed in this place, especially after all the reviews! I'm a Caucasian having lived in Japan, working for a Japanese corporation and feel my ability to comment on the delicious delectable menu choices Mikado has to offered are unchallenged by many others. Tuna that melts in your mouth, salmon that has a Pacific taste and gracious service that aims to please. Next time you stroll by the take out counter at numerous grocery stores that production line their 12 packs. Yes I know it's less expensive but once a year, take a trip to Mikado.
Thoroughly impressed with the food and service. A friend recommended visiting Mikado a long time ago and I am happy to have finally checked it out. Food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Came here for lunch and a break from shopping. I was sat at a table promptly and handed a tray with a hot towel infused with mint. Truly wonderful dining experience. Will be back here again for sure.
I have eaten at Mikado numerous times. Most recently a couple of weeks ago. The food is excellent, always very fresh, and perfectly prepared. I must say that the restaurant is a bit on the large side for me, a bit too big. I personally like a sushi spot that is smaller, more quaint. Having said that you will never be disappointed with the food, I do find it on the pricey side though.

It was our first time here at Mikado and all I can say is Food was delicious. My Hubby ordered Bento Box and I ordered Tempura small and Dragon something...I was impressed with the service. The server we had was attentive. I love Japanese cuisine. However the exterior is not that convincing. This was highly recommended for sure and will definitely come back once again.
We usually come here once a month! Service is always friendly. sashimi combo is fantastic. Bento boxes are also a great alternative. Fresh and tasty. Sapporo pours well. Green tea ice cream is always a nice finish!
I would like to give Mikados the best reviews possible, the food was wonderful. The service from such a nice young man was so good. I will recommend Mikado to anyone. I think it will take a lot to beat it.
We always come to Mikado whenever our family crave for Japanese food when we drive to Edmonton. We enjoy our Tempura and Bento box in Mikado. Great food with great prices as well.

Mikado is my personal choice for great sushi in Edmonton! It is also conveniently located next to Cineplex Movie Theater and The Rec Room to extend your time for a date.
If you love suchi this is the place to visit for a great food and good service the food prepared in front of your eyes go visit you'll love it
