The ribs, garlic bread and mushrooms are delicious at this restaurant. The snails are tiny and not value for money, when they are so small they should give double per portion. They really are the smallest snails we have ever seen and 7 tiny snails is hardly a starter. The service is terrible and we had to constantly ask for plates to be removed or even to get a drink or to get cutlery once our food was served. The light in the booths is so bright we all had a bit of a headache before we left and we asked if the light could be dimmed but they could not do that, they need to put a dimmer switch in or reduce the strength of the bulb. What a wonderful surprise, I mainly eat on the strip because i don't need to worry about having a couple of drinks. When a friend said she would be the designated driver and take us to her fave restaurant we did not have any expectations. Who knew we could get fabulous garlic snails,liver and stuffed mushrooms for entree in this fab restaurant. My friend has been telling me about the ribs for months and I wasn't disappointed . Picture this , it's Friday arvo just dropped our daughter to Brisbane airport . It's 5 pm we had been caught up in that horrible traffic back to the Gold Coast.Then I had this top idea , let's go to Mikes kitchen !!!!Now hear me ,"I love a good steak "and I wasn't disappointed 350 grams of tender rump steak topped with calamari and prawns topped with a tasty garlic sauce YUM.Oh yeh my wife goes to a steak house and orders fish ha ha . We came here for dinner with friends. Not being a ribs person, I declined then but my friends insisted that I try them. I eventually gave in and had a go. OMG this is something that you have to experience. I had the half ribs and a 200gm steak. The steak was done to perfection but the ribs, the ribs were amazing. I have never eaten anything like it. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is fabulous. Can't wait to come back (and I haven't even left yet). Thanks mikes. Till next time.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. With every meal you are offered a free glass of red or white, if you want to top up it's $4.50 a glass! What's more it's drinkable. The meals for lunch range from a special menu of $14.00 a meal, with plenty to choose from, or another menu ranging from $18.00 to around $30.00. Group of eleven up from Melbourne visited Mike's Kitchen after seeing TripAdvisor reviews. We weren't disappointed. Delicious and tender ribs with the meat falling off the bone. Really friendly staff although food was a little slow coming out but nothing to complain about. Prices very reasonable, especially drinks and desserts....if you can fit them in. What's not to like?
We dined at Mikes on a Wednesday night and had a great night. The men ordered half a rack of ribs and just made it through to the end. The pork was succulent and tasty. I had a 200g rib eye and had a bite left over. We all tried different desserts. I got the sticky date with cream and ice-cream and it was probably one of my best to date. Highly recommend you visit.

Had lunch here on Sunday. It was delicious. Just ordered from the lunch menu, very reasonable. The main menu was very expensive so no one tried the ribs.
