We arrived early and informed the hostess that we would be waiting at the bar until our reservation time. We ordered cocktails and appetizers, which were both excellent. The bartender was skilled and attentive, mixing drinks perfectly and creating a welcoming atmosphere. When it was time to head to our table, we were met with a less enthusiastic waitstaff, unfortunately. We quickly placed our order and shared a salad, an entrée, and dessert, but the server seemed quite disappointed. While the food was outstanding and served promptly, we would have appreciated a more positive attitude during our $100 meal. Great restaurant in the middle of New London. I tried my wife's cod and it was superb. Nice crust with great flavor and cooked to tender perfection. My meatloaf was very good, but the cod was the star. The burrata salad was great as was the potato leak soup again, my wife's soup beat out my choice of burrata but both were delicious. Nice wine list, pleasant service, comfortable atmosphere. I'd recommend 74 Main without hesitation.
Seventy Four Main has been our favorite restaurant for many years, and our most recent visit did not disappoint. However, I wanted to provide some feedback regarding the broccoli that came with our entrée. We ordered the filet mignon, and unfortunately, the stems of the broccoli were so tough that we couldn't even cut them with a steak knife. I would recommend just serving the florets in the future.
Overall it was a nice experience. The service was pleasant and punctual. The appetizer was done exceptional well. We settled for sandwiches for our main entrees. The honey chicken sandwich was good but a bit dry and my hamburger was too red for a medium burger. The creme brulee was good but served with a soup spoon. With all that said, I will try it again but with different items.

I took my husband to brunch for Father's Day. He loved the dish he got, some flatbread with eggs, cheese and breakfast meats. I got the Bennie which was mediocre and overpriced. The Hollandaise was bland, no lemon or pepper flavors, tasted like nothing. The potatoes were hard and dry, again, no flavor. We won't there again.
The food was outstanding, and the server was incredibly friendly and attentive. We were three friends catching up after a long time apart, and we appreciated being allowed to sit and chat without feeling rushed. Each of us traveled two hours to meet at a convenient spot, and it turned out perfectly. Thank you!
This was our first time at 74, and it was great! The only negative was that I selected the restaurant based on their online menu, but was a bit disappointed to find that they had a special menu for Mother's Day. Otherwise it was great!
3 appetizers 2 entrees were great, but one entree was served cold when I brought this to the servers attention she returned with a very hot but badly overdone entree, which I declined to accept after taking a single bite

Good stop between Burlington, VT, and Boston. The service was good and the food was well prepared. I felt it was a bit overpriced for what it was. But no complaints about the quality.
