My husband and I were looking for another restaurant, which is closed, when we stumbled across this find, which was highly rated by the business next door. Are we ever happy we checked it out! Service was very good (thanks, Nicole)! and the food was delicious. He had the BLT with salad and I ordered the Caprese sandwich with fries. Both were very fresh and very tasty. Husband was very happy to find they serve Guinness on tap. We enjoyed lunch and hope to return for dinner on our next visit to Vancouver Island.

Plain food carefully prepared. 5✨ The web-site has unreliable opening times. A lady at the door said "private party". We pointed out that the web-site made no indication of it. She said "Did you hear what I said"? Ouch. Would have liked to sit outside on the stone patio and enjoy the evenings as it cools. Unpleasant to say the least. Maybe rudeness is worth a deduction of a whole star but I didn't know for a fact if this person was an employee or just a busybody.

This small town English style pub in set in an historic Nanaimo house. It offers prompt and friendly service in a semi private “living room”, but it’s equipped with a full service bar. Menus are straightforward, with perfectly prepared pub fare. This place is an English style gem, but without the problems of the Royal family or the House of Windsor. (Photos redacted for the privacy of those in the public house). Enjoy.

The term 'hidden gem' can get a bit overused, which is why I've avoided using it in other reviews. But in this case it really is the case. This is a gem of a place hidden away on a quiet, mostly residential street. Food is tasty and inexpensive. Nice selection of local beers on tap. Cosy atmosphere and friendly service. My only regret: we don't live close enough for it to be our local! Reserva una mesa ahora

This staffing shortage is really hurting our hospitality industry. I really would have liked to give Milton Street five stars, because I liked the food and the prices were reasonable, but the server was so harried and distracted that our experience suffered greatly as a result. We could have easily become regulars, but we'll probably let them get staffed up before we return again.

Gem of a place. Great food and friendly staff in a cozy atmosphere. Especially love the chicken club wrap (smoky, creamy and delicious) and their spaghetti and meatballs (always spiced perfectly, fresh and hot). Their fries are out of this world! Haven't had a bad meal. Its our go to spot in Nanaimo...no where else comes close!

Delicious! Word of warning to tartar traditionalists the tartar is not traditional. It was a mildly flavoured lemon sauce of some sort; I liked it, my husband did not. However, the fish and the fries were great. The atmosphere and service were warm and friendly. Nice courtyard. Definitely worth a visit.

Don't miss this gem of a dining experience. We have been on the island for a month and by far this has been the best food! Enjoyed sitting on the patio for drinks and leisurely lunch. The cannelloni and mushroom rigatoni were superb! Sorry we didn't find you sooner. Reserva una mesa ahora

Went there on a Monday night after work with some coworkers. The place was rather busy, the service was a little bit slow but I bet they didn't expect it to be that busy on a Monday. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.
