Do you have a cousin in the family who is unknown to most of your relatives? You will relate to this Mithaas location in Piscataway compared to its grand cousins in the Edison and North Brunswick locations. I?m surprised with the mixed and mostly bad reviews. This is the closest to our home and can make quick runs to it when we have unplanned guests coming home. We've had only sweets (desserts) and some chaat items taken home from here and looking forward to dine for a lunch or dinner meal soon. Ordered a Bombay vegetable grillled sandwich and it is literally bread with a slice of cucumber, beet, and tomato. No chutneys, no taste. I paid $9 for three slices of bread and three slices of vegetables. Response to Mithaas: I did not request any changes to made to my sandwich. Perhaps they delivered it to the wrong person. I don?t think I will risk ordering this sandwich again as it was awful and do not want to spend $9 for it!
The samosa chana chat was enjoyable; it was warm, but not hot. We had heard great things about the rasmalai, so we decided to order it for takeout, but it was disappointing and hard. However, we decided to give the rasmalai another try on a different day, and it was delicious this time. The gulab jamun sweets are delightful, and the kaju barfi and motichoor laddu are also quite good.
I feel like the price of all the items are increasing every now and then, and while portion size is shrinking every time I order from here. I felt ashamed feeding my guest such a small amount of chaat. I felt like I could add two of those orders to make it one. Even the quality has gone down. I used to order a lot from here, but now I am like if it is even worth ordering from here.

The food at this restaurant raises health concerns. During my last visit, I found a fly in the dhokla. Previously, I encountered two instances where the curries had an unpleasant odor. While the staff was courteous enough to replace the food with other items, the manager was defensive about acknowledging the mistakes. Unfortunately, I never received a refund.
Samosa chana chat is good. It was warm but not hot. Upon hearing good things about rasmalai we ordered a take way but they turned out to be hard. Re-ordered rasmalai take away another day and it turned out to be tasty. Gulab jamun sweets are nice.Kaju barfi and motichoor laddu are good as well.
The food here is consistently excellent, and you certainly get your money's worth—generous portions and a great selection. The helpings are definitely not skimpy! Plus, the staff is friendly and welcoming. Overall, a fantastic dining experience!
Great chats and food, but the sweets are not the best. Very ordinary caju and milk sweets, but the Bengali sweets are great. For a very renowned and old sweet shop we expect it to be better.
