Mokutanya Yakitori Charcoal

I enjoyed the food (ramen with garlic oil was some of the best I've had) but unfortunately the atmosphere almost gave me a panic attack. We were put in the back area and it's super dark with dark colored walls with nothing on them, harsh overhead lighting, no windows, and I was facing the back wall. It was also very humid inside. Then you're also sitting on the floor which I understand is traditional but that with the combination of the darkness and the humidity I started to feel claustrophobic and just wanted to get out of there. You take off your shoes to go to the eating area which is totally fine, I'm Asian and don't wear shoes at home but it was pretty disorganized with all the shoes scattered by the entryway, which added to my panic. It would be nice if there were shoe cubbies. I asked my boyfriend if I could sit next to him so I could face inwards instead of having to face the bleak and depressing dark wall and that did make me feel a little better. I would definitely order takeout but would never dine in again.

The food was amazing and the service was even better. They have a couple of large tables which were perfect for our daughter's birthday party of eight. All the other girls said they wanted to have their birthday dinners here. Try the fries, Chicken Karage, bacon wrapped tomatoes! The wagyu skewers are top notch and perfectly cooked.

The service here is unmatched. I used to come for the food but now I come for the food and the incredible service. Everyone here is super attentive and helpful. My favorite restaurant hands down!
