We don 't go here often because of the loudness (er liveliness . But we forgot how good the food is. On the late side on a weeknight, the menu has a chance to shine. It 's one of the places you can get real Dover sole last night 's special. And plenty of other great fish and seafood. I almost gave a 5 for service but for one ding trying to clear one of our plates before the other was finished. A pet peeve, perhaps, but classy places should know better. Otherwise, our server was excellent knowledgeable, well paced, delightful. It 's Bethesda prices but fair for quality ingredients.
This place is highly energetic and the server made us feel rushed from the start. Asked for our drink order and we hadn't even been seated for one minute nor had time to even read the drink menu. Ordered the rose bubbly and got the normal flat rose. Steaks were tender, but sauce bland. Fries were overdone. Server offered us a complimentary profiterole, which was nice.
Everything was really good. Pommes frites (French fries) were excellent. Dessert was vefy good. Service great. Our outdoor table (partially thanks to extraordinary weather) was very pleasant. My one complaint is that the bechamel sauce on my croque monsieur was not hot and it was gloppy.
We have been to Mon Ami Gabi many times and we love it. My only issue is the lack of gluten-free buns/bread when necessary to the recipe. Then they would be perfect.

Had a great anniversary dinner with my wife. Great atmosphere and food. Recommended for a quiet evening dinner with your friends and/or loved ones
Service is slow and inattentive. Took forever to get attention, orders were incomplete. Dishes were not cleared away. Disappointing
The prices keep going up and the quality keeps going down. It used to be one of our favorites.
