While the prices are on the higher side, you definitely get what you pay for with the quality of the fish! We tried almost every roll on the menu, and the nigiri was perfectly portioned with just the right amount of rice and fish. We indulged so much that we only remembered to take pictures once we’d already started digging into our dishes. There were even some items we forgot to photograph because they went straight to my tummy! The scallops, especially the giant scallop nigiri, were absolutely delicious! The best sushi in San Gabriel Valley! We loved it when it was Mooncat, and it’s still fantastic now. The owner, Nakata, creates exceptional sushi, and the service is very attentive. If you arrive without a reservation, don't be upset about the lack of space—it's quite small, so just call ahead to avoid any issues. Also, keep in mind that this is not an all-you-can-eat place; this is genuine, authentic Japanese sushi.

One night, I found myself craving inexpensive sushi and stumbled upon Sushi NAKATA by chance. While it wasn’t the budget sushi I was looking for, it turned out to be some of the best quality I’ve ever experienced. I’m familiar with Michelin-rated sushi, and this place rivaled that level of quality. The prices are on the higher end, but it's absolutely worth it.

We visit Sushi Nakata several times a month, sometimes even two to three times a week! It's an intimate and wonderful sushi restaurant.
