Decided to try out Morgans as they had won awards for their Fish and Chips We ordered 2 pieces of crumbed fish, small chips and 2 potato scallops,Well could have done an oil change on my ute with the oil in the scalloped potato's they where disgusting worst I have ever eaten, the chips I think we ate maybe 2-3 each the rest went in the rubbish they where soft and soggy just terrible, they fish was not to bad but was no better than any one else's in Mackay.Don't know how they got their award JUST TERRIBLE

Morgans is well established in Mackay in Evans Ave, recently opened another shop in Rural View. The fish & Chips are really nice but quite expensive. Can be a bit "hit & miss" 1st time the fish was to die for, last week got it again & not nearly as good. However currently being the only Seafood shop in the area, they have the monopoly. Yes would continue to buy there though as love supporting locals. It's a basic takeaway with a few tables on the footpath, not a restaurant.

I had been getting fish and chips here for awhile and it was our go to place for good fish and chips. The last time I ordered fish, chips and potato scallops. The chips were so burnt you couldn't eat them, the potato scallop was an overlooked piece of batter with barely any potato. What has happened Morgan's? Please look into your cooking as you were the best in Mackay at one stage.

I've been telling my friend about coral trout and discovered Morgan's ! Yum!!!! All we can get in Victoria is battered flake or maybe flathead tails so my friend was not keen when I suggested fish. Now she's a convert!! Beautifully crumbed and perfectly cooked - but eat quickly before it goes soggy. Yes it's a bit more expensive than flake but you pay for what you get! I'll be back! Absolutely awful. Could not eat it. Had 2 pieces of grilled Barra which were burnt and tasted of onion. Chips and potato scallops were greasy and tasted like they were cooked in rancid or old cooking oil. A waste of $24.00 unfortunately. The food used to be good here but not this time.

Tried this place twice now and will definitely Not go back.I used to cook fish for a take away shop, and if we had served fish like, this we would have gone Broke, How have they won awards???? Maybe the fish would be ok if they changed the batter.

Only had battered barra and pineapple fritter. The batter stayed crunchy right to the end of my meal. Most places the batter goes soggy and the fish doesn't hold its form. It was so good I went back for another serve for dinner. Loved it.

Wait 45mins and get a burnt fish, Birdseye from woollies tastes better than this! Hey at least I was entertained by the woman wrapping the meals eating off people's orders before wrapping them. Reserva una mesa ahora

The best reef fish around and cooked to perfection. We phone ahead and it's usually ready when we arrive. Meal times can be slow service so it does pay to phone ahead.
