Morning Star Estate Restaurant

Took the opportunity of a lovely sunny day to travel down here for lunch last Thursday.Rather quiet so enjoyed a window seat overlooking the well kept gardens and lawn ( perfect for weddings I would think ).We had excellent & friendly service from the waitress, Tiara, who had no problems explaining the menu to assist my wife who has an allergy to garlic.Always the sign of a good restaurant when the chef can adjust most dishes to satisfy the needs of the customer.With this in mind my wife was delighted to be able to have an entrée of mussels which were in a broth containing 'hot'sausage and cherry tomatoes, whilst I had the bruschetta.As mains, I had the standard flathead tails with chips and...

Oh my. We read these reviews after making a booking and were apprehensive. We were a group of 9 moms having a day off. (Sat 7 Jan) Wow. Were we impressed. The maitre d Brian was fabulous ( and the blonde waitress I forget her name sorry) So attentive. You didn't need to barely ask for things such as more wine or water. He was on it. And so lovely. It was quite possibly the nicest steak I've eaten in a long time and everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I would recommend this place highly and will be back. Only downside could be no aircon in part of restaurant but they set up fans for us so that was brilliant too. And cooled us heaps. Thanks guys. A fab meal for a group of weary schoo...

It was like the customer was a real burden for the staff. The food was below average for a winery, packaged beer was flat - and they even ran out. No light beers available for designated drivers! At 11pm, the customers were yelled at to "get out". Furthermore, $15 for a bourbon and coke....please. Never again, the bloke that ran the show has no idea about hospitality. Disgraceful.

If only the service matched the view, then they'd be on a winner. Food was good. Service was unfriendly. Staff weren't aware the plastic wind shades moved so we raised them ourselves. Our waitress couldn't get us out quick enough. Time to clear out is not a comment you make to win tips or repeat business or positive reviews! Reserva una mesa ahora

I find it difficult to understand how a winery runs out of wine, it's like a McDonalds running out of a Big MacDespite that we had the best of days, how can you not with 19 friends.Food good, but a waitress that says "Clear out now" will never wins friends but has provided great fodder for our girls trip.

The venue is wonderful, attitude of staff was dreadful. Availability of wine (it's a winery isn't it) was limited. We pre-booked for a large group and paid a deposit yet it seemed to be a surprise when we arrived. A fantastic experience made ordinary.

A good lunch venue on a warm Sunday. We thought the food was very good. I don't think the winery is connected to the restaurant, but could be wrong. Was busy so wise to book. Plenty of parking. Staff were ok but lacked the usual teamwork.

Expensive, lovely view of Port Phillip bay. The roses reminded me of Springvale crematorium. We finished the main course thinking it was the entree. Very poor range of alcohol. Only wine, limited spirits and beer. Once only. Reserva una mesa ahora

Visitor from England had enjoyable lunch with the family. Lovely food, good service, beautiful gardens and relaxing ambience!

Pizza was perfectly fine. I think it's a good idea to come when the weather is good. The view is special.
