Very unsure why this place had such great reviews especially when we dined here. I won't speak for everybody but I know everybody almost took two bites out of their food... We piled up most the food to send home to the dog. I did get an avocado BLT with some kind of tomato jam or mayonnaise It was awful it was making the bread soggy.... Literally had maybe two pieces of bacon on my whole sandwich. After the two bites I took we took the whole sandwich apart and was astonished about the level of bacon and the $17 sandwich that's supposedly called a BLT. The avocado was still round they didn't even slice it up It was a very awkward sandwich to try to eat like they served it. The manager noticed...
Always a good meal! We used to live on DI when Mpishi first opened but have since moved away. Today was our first time eating here again since before covid, and it did not disappoint! My husband loved his Greek scramble. The flavors really popped, and he said that the bacon was perfectly cooked! I got the ?Day after Thanksgiving Day? sandwich, which was good but not great like before. If you get it, ask for no cheese and see if they can serve it on a less dense bread. The flavors of the bread and cheese really overwhelmed the Thanksgiving flavors. The gravy was also too runny for my taste and not very flavorful. I had my first meal at Mpishi today, and it was a great experience. The service was excellent, and the food was tasty. I enjoyed an omelette, while my lovely wife ordered the Greek scramble, and everything was satisfying. We kicked off our meal with the champagne sampler, which was a perfect start to Memorial Day. The homemade biscuits were also fantastic, featuring a new recipe that was perfect for the occasion. I definitely plan to return, and I'm not sure why I waited so long to try this place!
I was greeted immediately twice when I came in. I think some restaurants don't realize how much this matters. The service was super fast. I was given water and they took my drink order super fast. The food came so fast it surprised me, both times I came in. The food was absolutely delicious and I couldn't recommend it more. Well exceeded my expectations both times. If I am back in Charleston, I will be back.

Had breakfast at Mpishi with a friend yesterday morning. I ordered the build it yourself omelette. It was absolutely the best omelette I have ever had in my life. Normally omelettes are just flat eggs with cooked in toppings, but this one was different. It was huge and so good. I had to get a to go box for half of it. I highly recommend you try one yummy!

It?s so rare these days to find a place with freshly baked goods. I had a gluten-free toast there and the bread was house made and so good. Also, chef is extremely talented and passionate about food. Many options on the menu for a Vegetarian experience. We will be back.

Wonderful staff, very accommodating on a busy holiday when we did not have a reservation. The iced coffee, avocado toast, and juevos rancheros were delicious and big portions!
