We have moved to within easy walking distance and as we had been flat out for a few days we decided to treat ourselves at our now local cafe.As it was a holiday they didn't open till a little later which wasn't a problem as it allowed us to wander the street for a bit before hand.We weren't the first in but the staff had our order for coffee and food done in an instant. The coffee followed shortly thereafter allowing a little time to read the paper prior to breakfast. Another neighbourhood gem, tucked away in a nondescript strip. It has old charm and a warm ambience throughout, particularly up the stairs to the first floor ... with Mister B himself sitting stoically on a small landing greeting all-comers! I just love these cafes with ALL-DAY breakfast and lunch menus ... I love a great lunch during "breakfast-hours"! Good menu offering the standard fare plus a few more. The meals we got were scrumptious, and plentiful.
Excellent food and presentation, they are happy to make changes you need with orders (use skim milk instead of cream in scrambled eggs, porridge (my favourite) made with skim milk, different toppings on my porridge). Service is top star with attention to detail, staff very friendly and genuinely happy to be there and treat customers with warmth, it's a pleasure to be a 'regular' there. Job well done guys, thank you.
My wife and I have been many times sometimes for coffee and cake or for lunch. Many of the cakes are made on-site and a yummy. The food is always very good and the coffee is excellent. My wife often gets take away coffee as it is her favourite coffee. I like the pot pies for lunch which are always excellent. The staff are very friendly.Higly recommend

Great little cafe just down from the train station. Friendly waiter, quick service, good coffee and delicious cake. What more do you want for a quick stop whilst checking out the neighbourhood. I'd be happy to have it as my "local".

Cosy cafe. Great place to eat upstairs. The choice of the lighter options on the lunch menu are good.
