I've been to this restaurant twice. The first visit left me thinking the food was just "okay," if a little lacking in flavor. It was peak tourist season, and the wait for a table wasn't too long. As a big fan of the River City Cafe, which is part of the same local chain and has a similar cool vibe, I was hopeful. On my second visit with my wife, we waited over ten minutes for a server to attend to us. However, the food was better this time. She enjoyed her fish taco, which was small but flavorful. My nacho salad was really good too, but our server seemed to be in a bad mood when dealing with customers.
First time was great. Got 3 tacos, all delicious. Husband got nachos; also, delicious. Service was quick and friendly (takeout order). Second time, meh. Went w my husband, MIL, and FIL. Got some nargs but had to ask for an extra tequila shot for each bc you couldn't taste any at all. Even w the extra shots the tequila taste, they were too sweet. The food at Nacho Hippo was very good! Very diverse and awesome selection of food, along with specialty tacos. Our waiter, Nickolas, was the star of the show. He showed a great deal of compassion and gave awesome suggestions, along with explaining most popular choices on the menu. Nickolas showed the best service I have ever seen and I believe we need more Nickolas' in the world. He made the experience at Nacho Hippo *that* much better!
Who doesn't love nachos?! You have the option to customize your own nachos or choose from several menu selections. There are also various other Mexican dishes available. The prices here may be the best deal in Myrtle Beach, as two people can enjoy a meal and leave satisfied for under $25.

The food was fantastic! The nachos were unbeatable—definitely the best I've ever had. During my trip in 2022, TYLER provided amazing service. The sloppy burritos were also a standout. Highly recommend!
