Best harbour view in Lindau! The extensive upstairs terrace was a delight at the weekend, in bright sunshine but with many large sunshades to protect diners. The terrace overlooks the harbour at exactly the point where all the ferries dock, so guests can watch the...skilled maneuvering of the ferry captains and check out the passengers from a 'bird 's eye view ' people-watching position. Beyond the pretty harbour and lighthouse, diners can enjoy watching sailboats and powerboats on Bodensee and gaze, from Germany, over to the beautiful Swiss and Austrian Alps on the south and east sides of the lake. Drinks and food are all reasonably-priced and the service to our large family group, from a nice blonde waitress, was smiling and efficient. The restaurant interior is cool and exotic, with a very distinct Turkish style. For those who do, colourful water-pipes are available with various flavours.
With my Aunt and her family i wanted to enjoy the nice atmosphere at the harbor of Lindau. So i rang up the Nana team an reserved a table outside . Arriving at the restaurant they told me, that they have the table upstairs on the...terrace great. That 's the best view. We had a table directly at the front with a perfect view over the arriving and leaving vessels. But soon after we ordered our dinner, they started to clean the remaining desks and prepare for closing at 19:30. The service even did take care when our glasses were empty. That 's when i decided to not stay for a good ice cream (which they really have).
Nana is situated on the waterfront and is a great place to stop for a drink and watch the world go by. The outside tables have large sun umbrellas and offer a 'front row seat ' for views of the Barvarian Lion and Lighthouse. We were...drawn in by the sign advertising milkshakes and I wasn 't disappointed; delicious and generous in size! The service for placing our order was prompt and our drinks were brought out shortly after, but we found it a little difficult to catch the eye of a staff member when we wanted to settle the bill it 's also worth noting that payment is by cash only.
Great location if, like us, you're waiting for a boat from Lindau's picturesque harbour. And the cocktails were reasonably priced for this area anyway. Food was quite good, but when will operators like this recognise that they must accept credit cards. The world has...moved on and it is no good restraunters and others in places like Lindau, attracting international visitors to play King Canute and offend its customers by refusing the method of payment we now prefer. Shame they are just behind the times.
