this is probably the weakest National in Calgary. Despite of having barely any customers, it takes over 20 min to get a drink. The staff is not properly trained. I saw a waitress chatting with the bartender while my drink sat on the bar for over 15 min because my server prioritized cleaning tables rather than serving customers. There is another establishment right next door and they are always packed. National you can do better.
Great patio, the managers and servers are friendly and extremely helpful. The food, however, was not edible as I ordered a tofu bowl, and it arrived with long hairs wrapped around the tofu, and the guac appetizer showed up long after the tofu bowl had been brought out and taken back.I would only recommend this place for the craft cocktails and the patio on sunny days!
Chicken wings were great. Music inside was very loud. It was very hard to listen to each other. Went there to catch up with friends. Server was a little unprofessional. It felt like we had to take decision in split seconds, no eye contact, and we had to wait to place order. We moved to another location next door and we ended our evening well.
We waited 40+minutes to be acknowledged after our order was not put in. The waitress at the end gave us attitude and commented on the tip. We always tip and thank our waiters but this was the worst service. We were there for 3 hours. The girls at the bar apparently were the most important. I also had to flag down a waitress. Here is what a 40 dollar pizza looks like from national after being dropped or stepped on or something while being delivered?, oh and they put on peppers when I ordered it without due to allergy, what a joke. Don’t eat
Excellent bar food.Huge choice of beers, managed to get 3 I've never seen before.Plenty of seating despite it being at the start of StampedeLove from Scotland.
Best beef dips in Calgary, and I try them everywhere. Our server Emily is always just a beauty as well. 5 stars all the time.

"Even though it was a slow night at the restaurant (due to a holiday), we received subpar service. Our chicken tikka was delivered 25 minutes after the rest of our order. The manager did refund the dish, but we still left feeling unsatisfied."
