I live in New Haven, but grew up in Metuchen when sushi was exotic. I have 3 Korean kids and love everything about the culture, especially the food. Having had Korean in Seoul, NYC and Chicago, I think the main difference is the variety of food rather than taste or quality. In terms of taste and quality, Keum Ho is the equal of restaurants in Korea town. The main difference, likely a result of being limited by local materials, is the range of different foods. We went to celebrate today and left without even opening up our bottle. The service was HORRENDOUS. The wait staff was very rude and not helpful at all. We have never been to a korean bbq place that has it so only beef can be cooked on the grills. Imagine our surprise when we ordered beef and were brought an already cooked dish. When we asked our waitress about it, she was very rude and told us all beef EXCEPT this one dish. There were two women that came to our table and every time they passed us they gave us dirty looks. So I 've never taken the time to write a review before... We ordered what 's supposed to be premium pork jowl . Well, take a look at the photo yourself and you 'll see that what 's served was pretty much all fat and that small artery-clogging plate alone was $30. When brought to the host 's attention, I asked if she could give us a leaner cut and she said that 's how pork jowl is. Well, there 's no point in arguing... I suppose I 've had a much leaner cut of pork jowl in my experience and so I felt robbed. This place is highly overpriced and just not worth it. Save yourself the money.

I ordered the sullungtang and it was pretty good. Minus two stars: 1 for being charged over the menu price Another 1 for the lady saying it was just broth and was not able to describe the dish appropriately. There was some beef,scallion, and also noodle as part of the dish.
This restaurant offers authentic Korean cuisine with plenty of vegetarian options. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff is very friendly. It can get a bit crowded on Saturday nights, but that's to be expected when the food is this good.
I went for dinner with a reservation and ordered a variety of dishes from the menu. The staff service was satisfactory, and the food was quite good for Korean cuisine.
First time eating Korean BBQ and really liked it. Fresh food, great service. We ordered a variety of food. Beef, chicken, vegetable dishes and it was very good.

The quality of the meat did not justify the price. The kalbi was disappointing and subpar. On the positive side, the service was good.
Great service, food and BYOB. We also made reservations ahead on a Sunday night. Will come back again.
