OK, to be honest this used to be my local Chinese takeaway and I moved away some 20 years ago. Yes I've been back forth over that time but never had a takeaway from there. Beginning of this month I'm visiting with my son and we have lockdown restrictions so no restaurants are open near the hotel we're staying at so what the heck, I'll get a chinese. OMG! It's just as good as I remember it. Not only do the same family run it but the food is just amazing and you really get your moneys worth. I didn’t like this Chinese when I first started coming here as chips are chip shop style and dishes are old fashioned! But as only one originally the area I sometimes had no choice but to order here! But I got used to it,it’s only when I ordered from other Chinese places I actually appreciated how nice it was! Yeah the dishes are a little basic but have added a few new ones -but it’s generous portion sizes which when your a big family make a huge difference ! Weekends are a nightmare to get through-u literally could phone 100 times over 2 hours and still not get through lol …..but I guess that shows how popular it is! Crispy beef is delicious,chow mein good -hot and spicy prawns are the best...
Incredible takeout food that is the best around for miles. The special fried rice is absolutely delicious. This is the only Chinese restaurant I know where you have to ask for more vegetables in your dishes because they are packed with chicken and other ingredients. The only downside is that they do not accept card payments. It would be convenient for them to start accepting cards for both delivery and in the restaurant, as it is easy to set up now. Additionally, it can be frustrating to get through on the phone as they answer and then put you on hold. Perhaps they could use a service like Just Eat to facilitate card payments and reduce phone wait times.
I had a takeaway meal last weekend based on my daughter's recommendation, and I must say it was the best takeaway I have ever had. Although there may be a wait during busy times, it is definitely worth it.

Never had a bad chinese from here we as a family have visited for 40 years plus Great service although on weekend better to call in than ring as it is so popular ! Well done Mary and family !
X factor evening with my daughter and this started the night off nicely. Had food delivered and was still hot and fresh. Have one every weekend and it never disappoints.
I used to eat at this restaurant for years before moving away. When I moved back, I couldn't wait to try their food again. As always, it was absolutely delicious.
Always frequent this joint and the service is impeccable and food is on point. Mary is super friendly and helpful. A must visit for when you’re in the valleys.

My family enjoy a Mary 's once a week and it never fails to be a fantastic treat. No-one can do crispy beef like Mary 's
