I very much liked this pizza. I moved to California from the east coast 21 years ago and I have been largely disappointed with the pizza in this state. Most of the places labeled as 'good ' or 'great ' are just about average. Now don 't get me wrong, average pizza is still better than most other foods. But in those 21 years, the only times I can say I was actually IMPRESSED by the pizza can be narrowed down to three times. I just tried her cheese pizza, because the New York style is well represented by the cheese slice. Basically, the dough is more airy, yeastier and fluffier than your typical New York style pizza. The crust was a bit thick and diligent, which is not the type made of New York style. Overall, it is a decent slice, but it is closer to a Domino thin crust than a New York slice. The interior is a little dated and feels like an old school sports bar or pub. There are many parking spaces on the Strip Mall. Staff are very friendly and service was fast.
The pizza place was extremely busy as usual which is great , Ordered A extra large pepperoni pizza and a couple of sandwiches including a pastrami sandwich a pastrami to go, when I got home turns out they gave me a hot turkey sandwich (instead of pastrami sandwich) call them and they immediately told me they will make me my pastrami sandwich and will have it delivered to me which was fantastic. Mistakes happen but great customer service.
I've had some of the best pizza in New York and I can say without a doubt, this is the closest I've ever had to genuine New York Pizza on the west coast. Wow! The owner is from New Jersey I believe, but he makes the place feel like the Big Apple. If you like pizza, do yourself a favor and grab a slice. I had the pepperoni and sausage personal pizza with a Caesar salad. I rate this a 9/10 would definitely recommend!
I ordered a medium pepperoni and sausage pizza with extra cheese. It was amazing! They don't jump on the blows! But I ordered a ham sandwich for my husband... he was totally disappointed... Although the sandwich was huge, there was only one layer of ham.. I can suggest a smaller role with more ham. The pizza was so good. I'll come back. Mangia!
My wife and I today shared a pizza in New York style and an order of Mozzarella sticks. The pizza crust was excellent (as always), and the sauce was tasteful without being overwhelming. The place is spacious, clean and child-friendly. But the best part is the cheerful and professional demon of the staff!
