The food was excellent. The calamari was lightly fried and the butter nut squash risotto was cooked perfectly tender. Bread that came with the table was house made with a delicate crust and not from restaurant depot like a lot of other restaurants. However, I must say the portion to price ratio was way off. Particularly on the entrees we ordered. Should have came with more for the $40+ price tag per dish. Even if it was just the sides. That being said the service was exceptional. Very attentive and caring. Give Italian guys with an above average appetite like me a little more food and you have a perfect Italian restaurant. Nicola's is the best Italian restaurant . The quality of the food is always fresh and prepared perfectly. The chef owner, Nick, is the best in the business. This is the best restaurant in North Jersey, owned by a family. Nick and Orazio are amazing. Every time I visit, we receive top-notch service. The food is delicious and you can taste the love they put into it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5.
