Nippon Curry Featuring Hinoya Curry

Best and most delicious Japanese curry we’ve had! It tastes so homemade and cooked from spices and not like thick curry blocks. The tonkatsu and chicken katsu were perfectly fried with a light batter but still really crunchy. I like that the tonkatsu is fried thick like a pork steak. Super juicy and meaty. Portions are huge for the price. We added the little crunchy bits (free). They also had a high chair for our baby and the 3 of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch, the baby with the steamed veggies on the side. Can’t wait to go back! Wish they had an East Bay spot so we could go even more often!

Tasty food and friendly service. They offer a narrow band of options and deliver exactly what you want from within that band top notch for curry donburi. Take out orders are usually ready a few minutes more quickly than estimated, and the staff is very polite and welcoming. Great neighborhood spot for a quick lunch or casual dinner!

This isn’t my kind of curry (too rich) but the service was great. They brought out the tables and chairs they had just pulled in for the night cause we had a dog with us! Also all six of my fellow diners love this curry so you probably will too.
