No Frill And Grill

I dined at this restaurant about a month ago and I was thoroughly impressed! I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but after seeing their diverse and enticing menu, I decided to give it a go. My girlfriend and I came here for lunch on a Sunday in October 2021. We had her dog with us and so had to sit on the patio. I ordered the Norfolk hot brown with cheddar cheese gratin and crinkle cut fries and she ordered the meatloaf (at the recommendation of the waitress) with mashed potatoes and sauteed string beans. Other restaurants in Hampton Roads, take notes. THIS is how you apply sound dampening in a restaurant! Subtle, well disguised, and perfectly implemented. It was a packed house when we arrived; but you would have never noticed if you didn?t look around because it wasn?t loud. Most restaurants around town are horrendously loud. Not this place! I visited No Frills Grill for lunch with my daughter and my aunt, and it was a fantastic experience! I loved every aspect of this restaurant, from its cozy, family-owned atmosphere to the delicious cake-like cornbread. If you find yourself in Norfolk, I highly recommend giving No Frills Grill a try! Consistently excellent! Katie and Jerry served us huge, creative salads, and despite the craziness of being super busy, they handled it all wonderfully! The buffalo shrimp was fantastic, and the desserts were amazing too—try the peanut butter cake!

This small restaurant was highly recommended by a friend who was stationed at Norfolk. I had the Philly Cheesesteak with potato salad. My wife had a phenomenal Reuben with homemade onion rings. Wow. Cold Yuenglings. Great service from Hogan.

Just a Google pick, that DELIVERED!! We had a great server (Aliyah), who did an excellent job of suggesting this from the menu and had a great personality. The food was amazing and the restaurant had a perfectly set atmosphere.
