This is a very bad experience. I have a trip today, but the train is off around 17:00, so I wanna to find a cafe to stay and have something to eat. I arrived here around 10:00 and order a cup of coffee. After I finished, the staff was keeping coming and check if everything was fine, I knew they wanted me to order more if I planned to stay longer, thus I order a granola bowel, tbh I was too full to have it, so it cost me like more than 1 hour to finish it. After this, they were still keeping coming and ask me if I could like to order anything else. I said no then they were asked me to leave as there were a lot of customers were queuing downstairs and, if I had nothing to order, I may have to...
Saturday morning for coffee and cake with my sister. Chose Notes at my sister’s recommendation. Told to wait for a table, with no idea how long we would have to wait when people were obviously about to leave and other people being turned away. Sent upstairs to a table. Airless space. Eventually somebody appeared who we could ask to order. Asked about cakes and given a menu for the choices. Ordered a large black americano and carrot cake. The coffee was good, but served in a paper cup. Apparently that is how they do large but it would have been nice to know. The cake was very nice. Wanting to avoid the big chains, Notes is my go to coffee bar around the corner from my office in Pancras Square. I used to be a regular vistor with colleagues for coffee and drinks after work, but the service has significantly deteriorated over the past six months to the point where it's unacceptable. Staff are often disinterested, and sometimes rude. The service is slow. My past three visits have resulted in me not getting the coffee I ordered it's then put right, but the staff just don't seem bothered. The prices have gone up significantly it's now £3.60 for a flat white to take away. For the cost, it's just not ok. I'd rather put up with coffee from Leon or Starbucks. At least the staff...
Had a business meeting recently in Notes near Charing Cross. Not sure how come I've missed this place but I will definitely go again. Table service is laid back, don't go if you are in a rush, nice space at the back, the coffee is good and it's nice to support a smaller business rather than resort to a big chain. It was noisy at times but I liked the vibe and I'd definitely try it again and like the fact you can get wine too. Reserva una mesa ahora
We enjoyed a lovely brunch, ordered some beer and finished with a coffee. The service was excellent and very attentive when needed. The food was delicious with a modern presentation and fresh ingredients. The only downside was that there was only one toilet available when we really needed it.
The atmosphere and service from the staff were helpful and pleasant. However, the cappuccinos we ordered were barely warm. My colleagues were also surprised that a busy cafe, bar, and restaurant with at least 50 seats only had one toilet. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment.
