Loved my experience here! It kind of reminds me of Claro's Italian market, but with a restaurant. When you walk in, you'll find a super clean shop with a deli case with meats, cookies, desserts, and then you can line up to order to eat in or takeaway. Italian food, snacks, and wines from San Antonio Winery and other wines are available for sale. There is also numerous tables available if you want to dine in. My wife and sister used to meet their late sister here at least once a month. But it has been since Covid that I have been here. We decided to have a family birthday there. Although they do not take reservations, there is a family table that can be reserved and it sits 12. We were 9. I called in the AM and talked to Joe (manager/owner? who tagged the table for us. Community staple and piece of history in the area, yet I have never been until recently. It's both a deli, mini market of imported European goods, a bakery, and an eatery. They have lots of delicious food to offer at an affordable price and they also have family meals for takeout for big gatherings and events. We ended up getting the watermelon Italian ice from their fridge (sweet and refreshing on a toasty day) and a New York style Hot Dog. This came with mustard, sauerkraut, relish, and cooked onions. Simple and delish and a decently sized hot dog for $6.75. I also got some watermelon Italian ice for the road, can't go wrong with a sweet treat to go! Definitely gotta stop by again one day...
Thank you all Yelp reviewers who have confirmed how delicious, tender and great value the broasted chicken combo is. We were a group of 3 so it was a better value to get the 8 pieces family combo since we all wanted the broasted chicken all for $30. Nicely crisp on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Came with slaw, potato wedges and rolls. Even had leftovers! Huge dining area and smaller market area for deli cuts and sandwiches. I'm so happy i finally got to try to place. Highly recommend it and would come back for more chicken and their other options like pizza and sandwiches.

I am so glad I finally tried this great place, it's an Italian deli that serves up delicious sandwiches, salads, chicken, and a few Italian staples. The salads in the deli area can be sampled before purchase. I had the marinated olives, the garlic mushrooms, crab pasta salad, and marinated vegetable salad. For our entrees I had the eggplant parm and my companion had the lasagna. Both came with huge portions, sides, and garlic bread. Everything was fresh and delicious. There is ample room to sit and enjoy your meal and staff is welcoming, I can't wait to return.
Old world delicatessen never disappoints, I got the meat ball sub it's 6 inches but I was stuffed! The meat balls were huge and flavorful, well seasoned. You can see the fresh herb pieces. I could have easily shared it. This is place I go to when I'm craving a cannoli in the sgv. Workers are always friendly and personable. Great family restaurant with quirky decor. Tables were clean and they have tv with sports to watch while eating. If you like sandwiches and desserts this is the place for you.
This past Friday night, we enjoyed a fantastic Happy Hour at Old World Delicatessen, indulging in the generous five-piece broasted chicken combo meal, which came with huge buttered rolls and thick fries.
