Olive Tree Mediterannean Grill

Had lunch at the Olive Tree recently in FSJ. We were in town for the holidays and wanted a donair to change up the fair. They offer beef, chicken, lamb and vegetarian donairs. Our group tried all but the vegetarian - the reviews were all excellent!! The daily soup was also top notch.This place gets a hearty thumbs up.They have a limited menu (no falafels for example) but that can be excused. It is a small diner.

As a maritimer, I know donairs. Halifax is legendary for them. This place may think they're authentic, but they have totally missed the mark. The beef was waaay too salty. The saice was wrong. The portion was small. Do yourself a favour, take your $10 down the street to the other donair place across from Canadian Tire. They've never let me down the way that this establishment did.

The food is good. It is tasty and fresh. What I like is that it is made right there in front of you so there is nothing to hide. It is central in town and easy to get too. It is a good lunch spot but there isn't enough variety for dinner from my point of view.

Pros - generous portion of lamb, friendly staff. Cons - disappointed with the atmosphere. Seem to target takeout orders more than those choosing to eat in. This, based on quality of seating and lack of decorating.

Lunch special was awesome! nice little spot :) A little out of the way but very nice to find on mainstreet, and nice to see something a little different in a city with too many restaurants!

This place has a small menu but they do the food right. It is delicious! You can tell the owner takes pride in his restaurant and food. It's always packed when I've been there.

Love eating there..highly recommended. Fresh soups daily..salads and the donairs are beef, chicken, and lamb..Ceasars salad wrap all on homemade pita bread.

An excellent lunch sport for the Donair and Greek salad lovers. Quick service and always fresh. Limited menu but great food!

The food is super with lots of flavour. I go whenever I get the chance. A must to try if you haven't been there.

Usually good food. I prefer lunch over having dinner here. Not as good later in day, perhaps meat to dry
