My girlfriend and I was lucky enough to stumble across this diamond-in-the-rough in the old town of Nice. It is the perfect small, family-run restaurant with only 10-12 tables, and where every guest is treated like an old friend of the family. Absolutely incredible service! The host and chef is the most wonderful and gratuitous person, as he jumps from one table to the next to ensure everything is perfect. The service takes its time, but it only the makes the experience more authentic and enjoyable. Jeg og min mor hadde et fantastisk måltid her i går. Veldig hyggelig vert som får deg til å føle deg velkommen - som om gjestene var på besøk i hans hjem. Her ligger det mye kunnskap bak maten de lager og hvilke ingredienser de bruker. Hver rett serveres med en passende av deres egne olivenoljer. Vi delte en forret med mozzarella og tomat. Lokal produsert mozzarella, store gode tomater. Til hovedrett spiste jeg tagliatelle verde et pesto og min mor hadde tartar. Nydelig mat! Vi var så mette at vi ikke orket dessert, men jeg tør love at også den vil være i toppklasse. Dette er mer enn en restaurant, det er en opplevelse.
We tried to book dinner one day in advance but had to settle with lunch as this is a very popular and well visited restaurant. My family and I all enjoyed the dishes. Delicious and thoroughly combined with different flavorers of olive oil. A genuine and friendly atmosphere. My kids went round the corner to by ice cream for desserts and when they got back, waiting for us to pay, got a special sweet olive oil on the ice cream as a treat :) we really felt both welcome and treated with care. Book in advance and visit! Oliviera is a must stay.
Kan varmt anbefale et besøg på Oliviera. De har få men virkelig velsmagende retter. Ejeren er utrolig passioneret for sit håndværk og formår at lave en intim og hyggelig stemning. Sidder man indenfor, kan man følge med i køkkenet, da det fylder halvdelen af den meget lille restaurant. Sidder man ude (hvor der er flest siddepladser) kan man føle stemningen fra Vieux Nice (den gamle by). Prisniveauet er rimeligt. De tager kun imod kontanter.
Excellent service! Everything explained by the owner in detail, even all the stories about different types of olive oil! Very tasty food, original starters followed by delicious main courses. We got the tagliatelle and vegetarian lasagne both of which were great. Prices are reasonable given the price range in Nice. The owner is very enthusiastic about the food and the olive oil as well.
I've been here a few times and never left dissapointed. Limited choice of dishes and wines all made with love for ingredients and traditions. Service is with the big smile.Excellent olive oils, and don't hesitate to let the maître guide you through what he has to offer.In the end I always step outside with a smile, but my wallet lighter as well.
Quelle belle découvert et belle expérience! La nourriture était excellente de même que l'ambiance. Des propriétaires passionnés qui prennent le temps de discuter avec les clients! J'ai moi-même appris à apprécier les tomates grâce à eux! Merci et à une prochaine fois! Je n'ai aucune hésitation à recommander ce resto!
