Since moving Sittingbourne in May, this has become our regular take away venue! It's always great value, and we have found that the kids meals are great value and plenty for an adult as well as our teenage boys. I am sure you get just as much fish in a kids meal as if you were ordering medium cod in regular fish and chip shops yet it's a lot cheaper! The only slight downside if you could even call it that is that the kids fish bites are always cooked fresh, so you have to wait a while for your food. But, whenever you order you always get offered chips eat whilst you wait so is it really a downside at all?! The staff are friendly and chatty we found out they even chip their own potatoes onsit...
40 or so years ago this chippy was known as the West End. It was my go to location after spending the evening swimming (mucking about) in the old swimming pool in St.Michael's road. It was small then, but nothing could come close to their battered sausage and chips as I walked home. Jump forward to 2022, the chippy is no bigger, prices have increased, the name has changed to Ossie's but the food remains the same. It still tastes amazing and the portions are still large. Visiting Ossie's has reminded me of my youth with fond memories of all the fun and friends I had growing up. The meals were all of big portion sizes and tasted delicious. My grandad and mother both had fish and chips. Where as my brother and I both had a battered sausage with chips, however my brother had a piece of Southern Fried chicken. The chips were crispy on the outside and really fluffy almost creamy on the inside, best chips I’ve had in a long time! As well as the sausage being really good! For drinks my brother and I had a strawberry milkshake, and my mother and grandad had a cup of tea. The milkshake was thick enough to drink but not runny like a yazoo without chunks. Would highly recommend this place despite the fact all of the tables were so close together it was almost uncomfortable!
Stand back people, we've got some sort of self-proclaimed connoisseur! (usually a knob) Yes! I'm northern, but I was born in Cornwall. Pray don't tell me the perfect golden brown, crispness of batter. And chips should first be cooked, and then that same crunch added to the outside. Lord why do I live so far from this place? Where others make it chewy to get the perfect colour, this was lighter than air and skimmed over the tongue with delight. Portion size... Perfection. And I wish I'd have taken a photo of the food I had, it was leaps and bounds (and in paper) better than the ones already added. Duly noted... This is now our preferred fish and chip shop! The portions of fish bites are incredibly large, the sausages are always cooked perfectly, and my husband enjoys the few chips given to nibble on while waiting for the order. The staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable. Although we live on the other side of Teynham, we will definitely be making this our usual spot!
Generous portions, clean premises, very good fried food and friendly people managing this very busy Fish and chips shop. Most items fried to order, therefore ensuring the fish is crisp and enjoyable. So good we went twice in three days the fact that it has such a faithful local following obviously says a lot about Ossie's.
I had an amazing experience at this fish and chip takeaway! The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food was the best fish and chips I have ever had from a takeaway. Everything was cooked fresh and the portions were very generous. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be returning!
This has to be the best fish and chips for miles around! We visited on a cold December day but had the warmest of welcomes. The fish was cooked to order and had the crispiest batter. We ordered medium cod and chips and the portions were very generous. We will definitely be back!

Read the reviews and went to this place. It’s a tiny shop but the fish and chips were spot on. I had a large Haddock. Really fresh. The place was packed and you can see why when it’s this good. Recommend.
