Pacific East Sushi Bar Japanese Restaurant

I went to the restaurant on Sunday 7/20/2023. I heard people talking about the power outage on Saturday 7/29/2023, the whole mall was gone out of electricity and closed. Since I had alreday ordered sashimi which is raw fish, I asked the server how did they deal with the power outage and learned they did nothing and still selling the unsafe fish to customer. Thinking about the raw fish was stored without electricity in hot summer for almost 24 hours, I had no idea why the restaurant still seved the unfresh food to customer. Really upset!!!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant for lunch. They offer a great variety of options and specials, and the staff is very friendly. The location is also very convenient. Both the food and service were excellent, receiving a rating of 4 out of 5. I highly recommend trying the Miso Soup and Hand Roll. For vegetarians, there is a large selection of dishes available. The price per person is between $10 and $20. Overall, I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a satisfying lunch experience.

I would have given this restaurant a four or five-star rating based on the quality of the food. However, our group arrived 45 minutes before closing and throughout our meal, the wait staff rushed us to finish. Their behavior of standing over us and attempting to take our plates before we were done eating was very rude and negatively impacted our dining experience. If they were unable to accommodate us properly, they should have communicated that upfront.

The prices raised up and I think the quality went down since last time I was here. The sushi pieces weren’t very firm and it wasn’t very flavorful. The menu was impossible to understand, they wrote the new prices on top of the old prices and it’s hard to read. The staff was nice and attentive but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be coming back. The food at this restaurant is consistently fresh and excellent. I appreciate that they are willing to accommodate my preference for soy paper instead of seaweed in my rolls. The service is top-notch - the staff is friendly, attentive, and efficient. This is a great place to try sushi for the first time, with a diverse and extensive menu to choose from.

I have visited this restaurant multiple times. Julie Lin is very kind. I dined in for lunch and the price per person ranges from $10 to $20. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a rating of 5. I highly recommend trying the Manhattan Roll.
